Skilled Nursing
Skilled nursing care can be given or supervised by Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). Nurses provide direct care; manage, observe, and evaluate a patient’s care; and educate the patient and his or her family caregiver as needed. In many cases skilled nursing is provided to patients in the home due to medical conditions that make it difficult for travel in order to receive medical attention.
Blissful Home health professionals develop nursing care plans to adjust, change or discontinue medications and perform treatments as ordered by the patient’s physician. The nurses monitor vital signs, maintain a plan of care, and educate and supervise home health aides in patient care.
Our skilled nursing services include but not limited to:
- Wound care Management.
- Infusion therapies.
- Ostomy care management and teachings.
- Assist with medication management.
- Teaching and observation of high risk diseases such as Congestive heart Failure, Coronary Heart Disease, Diabetes instructions and management.
- Provide home safety instructions and management.
- Pre and post-operative care.
- Provide feeding feedings, G tube care and teachings.
- Facilitate family meetings to help with care decisions.
- Advocate for patients and families.
- Monitor/teach home oxygen needs.
- Supervise the home health aide
- Lab draws/injections/Coumadin management
- Central line and port management
